Tips For Twin Screw Extruder Operation
1. The circulating water for the cooling system of the twin-screw extruder barrel should be distilled or demineralized water.
2. The screw should only be turned on at low speed and the idling time should not exceed two minutes. After feeding, the speed should be gradually increased only after waiting for the material to come out of the die hole of the head.
3. When there is material in the twin-screw extruder head, it must be heated. Assembly and disassembly can only be done after the material has softened.
4. There is also an electrical interlock between the feed motor and the main motor. This means that when the main motor of the feed motor does not stop, the main motor cannot stop either. When the main motor does not start, the feed motor cannot start either.
5. When the twin-screw extruder is running, be careful not to bring any metal impurities into the raw material used for production.

Type B equipment is medium and high torsion equipment, it has low torsion transmission box, and the motor power will be relatively small. Besides, its output is relatively low, the unit output energy consumption is relatively high, but it has the advantage of the economic equipment price and less maintenance cost.
C, D type equipment is high torsion equipment, its supporting gearbox can be divided into 8, 11 13 or more according to the torque grade. The higher the torque grade, the greater the motor power that can be matched with the gearbox, and the higher the output. This kind of equipment is mostly special equipment for large output. In order to avoid frequent replacement of raw materials and cleaning machines, we suggest that customers process only one system of granulation with one equipment.
First of all, the buyer need to determine how much output is needed and the kind of the plastic carrier, such as filler masterbatch or the color masterbatch or the functional masterbatch. We will recommend the appropriate model of twin screw extruder according to the specific materials and production capacity.
The most important thing is to choose the appropriate cutting method according to the processed materials. For example, fully degradable plastic PBAT PLA can not be cooled with water, however, engineering plastics, high temperature plastics, special plastics must be cooled by water.
For some reactive extrusion, monomer polymerization and other blending reactions. We communicate with customers about the reaction duration of materials and recommend the appropriate screw speed. A longer aspect ratio is recommended to ensure the residence time in the material cylinder of the material, in order to achieve sufficient reaction and improve the degree of reaction and polymerization.
Double screw can process almost all kinds of plastic and some kinds of rubber. If according to the processing industry classification, can be divided into the following types
1.Color masterbatch industry
the base material of color masterbatch is plastic. These plastics include PP PE ABS PBT PET PVC and they mix with pigments or dyes to make the color masterbatch, the general color masterbatch cold pull strip with water. The general color masterparticles are small yield machines. The maximum output is 300kg / h, we recommend customers to choose 35 40 52 65, B,C,D type can be. The output varies from 30-300kg, in addition, the color base material industry in the more special black masterbatch processing, because the carbon black is very small, the particle size is very small, it is difficult to use conventional equipment to add to the high content, we recommend customers to use the form of mixer and double screw combination, can use 65, 75, 95 machine, the output can do 300-800kg / h, carbon black content can reach 40-45%, black masterbatch grain using water ring cutting or underwater cutting. And the black female granulation machine does not advise customers to clean up the screw. For the production of white female in the color female industry can be the same configuration as the black female, because the TiO 2 weight is light, it is difficult to directly feed the double screw, so we prefer the compact er. Then add double screw granulation, use 65.75.95 machine, the output can do 300-1000kg / h.
2.Filling modification industry
Mainly used in plastic packaging industry, plastic carrier for PE PP PS PVC, etc., filler for calcium carbonate, talcum powder and so on.
Some engineering plastics such as PA ABS add iron powder, aluminum powder, magnetic powder, ceramic powder and so on, which are used as conductive materials. We recommend customers to use B,C,D series equipment such as 50, 65, 75, 95. The granulation method is air-cooled hot cutting, water ring hot cutting or drawing strip cutting.
3.Reinforced modification of engineering plastics
PA ABS PC PPS and other engineering plastics are blended with glass fiber or carbon fiber. It is used in the automobile industry. In the home appliance industry and other occasions, water-cooled strip granulation is generally used for this kind of reinforced and modified granulation, and the equipment recommends the use of BCD transmission box for 35, 52, 65 and 75. The output ranges from 30-800kg/h.
4.Functional masterbatch
Mainly refers to flame retardant, anti-aging, anti-ultraviolet and other plastics to enhance some specific functions of plastic modification, this kind of masterbatch dosage is small. Therefore, we suggest that customers use lower production equipment and use water-cooled strips for granulation. We recommend 35, 52, 65 machines for equipment. The B,C, D type can be selected according to the customer’s preference.
5.Granulation of all kinds of cable materials
including PE sheath material, insulating material PE cross-linked cable material, PVC cable material, low-smoke halogen-free cable material and so on. The use of the cable material and the carrier is different, so the equipment selected is different. We can recommend it according to the specific requirements of our customers.
6.Reactive extrusion
mainly used for some special plastics Polycondensation, polymerization, devolatilization and other different materials of different processes, equipment requirements are also different.
7.Bio-based fully degradable plastics
For environmentally friendly fully degradable plastics such as PLA and PBAT, we recommend that customers use 65, 75, 95 machines and air-cooled strips for granulation. The output varies from 200 to 900kg/h.

3.PC control system:
The industrial PC developed based on the operating system supported by the industrial computer PC has gradually matured. The operating system is suitable for intelligent chemical factories such as industrial PC.
