Advantages:
The bulk polymerization of TPU involves the initiation of a polymerization reaction by initiators under the influence of light, heat, etc., which is used to synthesize TPU. There are two methods for the polymerization of TPU: batch synthesis and continuous synthesis. The synthesis method using twin-screw equipment is continuous synthesis, where the process involves the metering of TPU raw materials by loss-in-weight, followed by mixing through a casting machine before entering the twin-screw for further mixing. The initiator reacts at high temperatures, and the final granules are continuously synthesized through underwater cutting. The advantages of continuous synthesis include suitability for large-scale TPU production, high efficiency, precise metering, stable quality, and excellent and reliable processing and mechanical properties of TPU.
