Underwater pelletizing system is suitable for pelletizing most polymers, especially used for all elastomer materials such as EVA, TPE TPV, and TPU. Compared with other pelletizing systems, it produces better particle shape and it has a compact structure, high degree of automation, large output and other obvious characteristics. At the same time, it is also suitable for the pelletizing of some microparticles (sand with a diameter of about 1mm).
We can provide a complete automatic feeding system and underwater pelletizing systems, such as TPU/TPV production lines.

Four Special Applications Of Underwater Pelletizing System
There are 4 special applications that can only be handled by underwater pelletizing systems.
1) Round particles with diameter ≤1mm.
Round particles can only be produced through underwater pelletizing systems.
Microparticles are mostly used in the preparation of high-concentration masterbatch. The particles are very small, and the dispersion effect can be achieved without or using a small amount of dispersant. This results in significant cost savings. Masterbatches in particulate form are easier to handle, better metered and dust-free.
2) High output
Other types of pelletizing systems have difficulty in handling outputs of more than 1000kg/h. Underwater pelletizing systems can handle throughputs up to 50 tons/hour.
3) Soft materials with hardness less than Shore A40
Many types of soft materials, such as TPE/TPV/EVA/hot melt adhesive, can only be made through underwater pelletizing system.
4) Synthesis and reaction of polymers
Polymerization, reactive extrusion, and transformation from liquid to particles can usually be achieved through underwater cutting of many materials.
General Applications
- PP, PE and its compounds, various of thermoplastic elastomers, PA, TPU, EVA, and other hot melt adhesives.
- Extensive heat and mass transfer, narrow residence time distribution, large surface-to-volume ratio, continuous operation. Ideal for high-viscosity, high-temperature reaction systems.
- Continuous polymerization or reactive extrusion like dynamic vulcanization, crosslinking, grafting, and chain extension of PUR, PA, POM, PEI, PC, PMMA, PBT, PPS, etc.
